behind the blog

how it all began

From my teenage years, I remember battling hormonal chaos — acne that made me feel like Shrek, irregular periods, and, yes, a faint mustache (a true PCOS girlie starter pack). In my early twenties, I started dealing with chronic back pain, painful bowel movements, and that deep, stabbing lower stomach pain no one warns you about.

In 2023, after stopping birth control, I was finally diagnosed with Polycystic Ovary Syndrome (PCOS). But my story didn’t end there — two years later, I was also diagnosed with endometriosis. Shocker, I know.

And that’s how Prehranika was born — a space dedicated to real nutrition for PCOS and endometriosis, without the diet culture noise or wellness BS. Here, I share recipes, hormone-friendly nutrition tips, and slow-living inspiration for every chronically ill girlie trying to find balance.

It’s not just a blog — it’s a safe space.
A corner of the internet where women can feel seen, supported, and understood.

So whether you’re here for hormone-friendly recipes, nutrition advice for PCOS and endometriosis, or just some real talk about living with chronic illness, welcome. You’re in the right place.

Disclaimer:

While I share openly about PCOS and endometriosis, I’ve chosen to keep my thoughts on fertility private. I believe every woman should have the right to decide what she shares — and when.

Get to know prehranika better!

From 2017! My first blog was called Nikoleena (lifestyle-focused blog with a hint of recipes). Then, in 2020, I started my second blog, a reading blog called Fairy Whisper. Prehranika is my third blog, actually.

I’ve had symptoms basically from early teens, but I was diagnosed with PCOS in 2023 and with endometriosis in 2025.

I’m from a small Slavic country in Europe.

Prehranika is actually a mix of two words – my name and “nutrition” in my language.

It’s hard to say, because I read a lot of great books over the years – one of my favorites is Anne Shirley and Little Women. And, of course, the whole collection of Harry Potter.

let’s be friends!
