Hey, my name is Nika.
And Prehranika is my little corner of the internet.
I have a master’s degree in overthinking, easy recipes, clean spaces, and bookworm adventures—with a slight planner addiction (sorry, Google Calendar!). Oh, and I also have a master’s in dietetics.
My blogging journey began in 2017 with Nikoleena, a blend of food, book reviews, and lifestyle blog posts. By 2020, juggling studies led me to pivot to a book blog, prioritizing reading over cooking. Life shifted gears, leaving my book blog neglected, but my craving for creativity persisted. Thus, Prehranika was born—a new blog platform for my passion for writing and all things about dietetics and nutrition.
Food has always been a deep passion of mine. I firmly believe in keeping nutrition simple; the diets we find online are often unnecessary for a healthy lifestyle. For me, balance and moderation are the secrets to well-being and fitting comfortably in your pants!
Factc about me:
- I completed my undergraduate studies at the Faculty of Biotechnology, majoring in Food and Nutrition. I continued my studies at the Faculty of Health Sciences, majoring in Dietetics.
- You may be wondering “What’s with the name Prehranika?” Well, it’s the mix of two things – my name and word “prehrana”, which means nutrition in my native language.
- I’m coming from small slavic country, hence the “prehrana” part.
- I have maltese dog, called Luna.
- Despite I’m not a child anymore (at leats not by apperance), my favourite book series ’till this day is Harry Potter.
- I don’t divide food into “good” and “bad”. If you ask me food is just food.
- I’m huge believer that nutrition has a great influence on our health, so I strongly advocate a balanced diet.
- I love a clean kitchen and bathroom. There is nothing better than a “polished” sink. 🙂
- Easy and nutritious lunch is my middle name.
- I don’t drink coffee – that’s why I prefer sweets, so I’ll always look for cute little coffee shops with delicious pastries when I’m around and about.
- About a year ago, I discovered embroidery, and it has become my go-to for maintaining my sanity. There’s nothing more satisfying than diving into some DIY projects or creating handmade gifts.
Nice to meet you!
